Teal Card: Your comfort knowing worker PPE fits properly

Are you OSHA compliant for fit testing?
Occupational Health and Safety laws are increasingly mandating that protective equipment such as respiratory protection masks are corrected fitted and tested on end-users. Teal Card makes recording these tests easy!
From personnel certification, fitness testing and now PPE fitting, IPSQA consolidates these records electronically through a global transcript that is easily verifiable online.
Teal Card by IPSQA provides the ability for Accredited Testing Centres to record personal protective equipment fit tests. Test results and associated documentation are uploaded to the IPSQA database to ensure an auditable record is maintained and a “certificate of fitting” is generated (fee applies) affixed with a QR code for real-time validation.
The certificate includes a section that can be cut out and laminated or placed in a clear plastic ID pouch for ease of access. The colour of the “certificate of fitting” is primarily teal, hence “Teal Card”.
Teal Card can be used using a range of test procedures (such as QLFT and QNFT for respirators), as the test report is uploaded and centrally stored. Teal Card can be used for a wide range of PPE from respiratory protection, specialist helmets, rescue personal floatation devices, and more.
And the benefit of Teal Card is that you can customise the specific PPE make and model to ensure the right equipment is assigned and used.
Respirator Fit Testing Requirement:
The US OSHA standards relevant to respirator fit testing for emergency services are primarily outlined in 29 CFR 1910.134, Respiratory Protection Standard. Key aspects include:
Fit Testing Requirement:
- Fit testing must be conducted before an employee uses a respirator for the first time and annually thereafter.
- Additional fit tests are required if there are changes that could affect the respirator seal, such as weight changes, facial surgery, or facial hair growth
- Fit testing must be conducted before an employee uses a respirator for the first time and annually thereafter.
