Approval Notices
Access to the Approved Notices report
Approved Notices for the Recognition of Current Competency for CorePass Certifications are collated in a special report available only to ATC Administrators and IPSQA Assessors.
The report has three key functions:
1. Providing pre-approved cross credit of courses completed that allow the ATC to award the respective CorePass under Recognition of Current Competency. This basically means, if the candidate has the listed course certificate/statement of attainment you can award them the CorePass administratively.
2. Provides a list of external standards that should you use it’s respective assessment tool (approved by the standard body or regulator), you can use it to assess candidates against the specified CorePass. This means you do not need to have that assessment tool (i.e. examination, workbook etc) moderated as it has already been done so. The only caveat is that in some cases, the external standard may over-assess and therefore you are cross-crediting down.
3. Provides a list of specific assessment tools already approved by IPSQA including those available commercially and proprietary to ATCs. This allows ATC’s to identify sources of approved materials and enable them to reach their own commercial agreement with use directly with the tool owner. ATC’s can submit their assessment tools for moderation here.
Recognition of Current Competency
Recognition of Current Competency (RCC) as per 1. above, assessment still requires:
- Approval by IPSQA Assessor with scope for respective CorePass.
- Evidence must still be uploaded such as the certificate or statement of attainment.
- Evidence must be no older than 24 months.
- Assessment date must be back-dated to original certificate or statement of attainment date.
- Where there is any cause of concern over the authenticity of the certificate or statement of attainment, the ATC must verify the document with the issuing entity.
