With our CertPubS® focusing on full role certification, new IPSQA micro-credentials will allow independent assessment in accordance with ISO 17024:2012 for low credit public safety roles and tasks. For role standards that are less than 10 credits, micro-credentials can now be created as stand-alone or add-on certification options. For example, a candidate holding CertPubS®(TRO) [Tactical Rope Operator] may go onto to being assessed for IPSQA 5001:2023 Tactical Canine Rope Operator (TCRO), depending on whether their team or agency operates such a capability. Micro-credentials are distinguished from CertPubS® through using the 5000 series of standards, and using a four letter abbreviation.
